3D / 4D Ultrasound Services

With our 3D/4D Ultrasound Equipment, we are able to provide the first pictures of babies to their mothers.  By providing high quality, clear images, we do everything we can to make the first pictures of your baby as perfect as your baby.

Echo-Doppler or Vascular Ultrasound

An Echo-Doppler is an ultrasound that uses a small, hand-held microphone to send sound waves into the body.  The sound waves are recorded, converted to moving pictures on a monitor and then measured.  The measurements help your doctor determine how your blood is flowing through your heart, whether any of the valves of your heart are having issues, and whether there are any blockages that are preventing blood from flowing well.  We are proud to work in conjunction with The Heart Place to provide you and your doctor with interpretations of our exams.

X-Ray Technology

X-Ray technology allows your doctor to see through your tissue to your bones.  X-Rays help your doctor determine whether you have a broken bone, a cavity or whether your child has swallowed a foreign object.  An X-Ray camera uses the same film as a regular camera but the special X-Ray light sets off a chemical reaction that creates the images of your bones.

SPECT Imaging

The dual head gamma camera is a nuclear imaging camera that uses Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (“SPECT”) to produce images of the biological processes in your body.  SPECT scans allow your doctor to see things such as small breast tumors, healing bones from trauma such as cancer, and can help your doctor determine how your heart is functioning (MUGA scan).  SPECT scan cameras are very quiet and patients do not typically have issues with claustrophobia when being scanned.

Multi-Slice PET / CT

Positron Emission Tomography (“PET”) is a form of nuclear medicine imaging that provides a 3D image, or map, of the processes and structures in the body.  A PET scan detects pairs of gamma rays emitted indirectly by positron-emitting tracers.  PET scans are very similar to CT scans with the primary difference being that PET scans can allow the doctor to see the structural and functional views of the body and its organs.  With this imaging technology, the doctor can tell how an organ is functioning and if it has been damaged.  Some common PET scans include the brain and the full body.

CT Scan

CT scanning, sometimes called CAT scanning, is a non-invasive scan that helps your doctor diagnose and treat various medical conditions.  A CT scan combines x-ray equipment with computers to produce multiple images, or pictures, of the inside of the body.  Our CT scanner is a 16-slice machine.  That means that is can provide 16 sections of each image it takes.  CT scans of organs, bones, tissue and blood vessels can help your doctor by revealing more details than a traditional x-ray is able to reveal.

Upright Positional Open MRI

True Medical Imaging is the only facility in the Coastal Bend to offer the Upright Positional Open M.R.I.  Our M.R.I. offers patients a more comfortable imaging experience and provides doctors with the best quality, most accurate images possible to assist in their diagnosis.  Children may even be accompanied by their parents during the M.R.I. scanning process and our M.R.I. can scan adults up to 500 lbs.

Stress EKG

A stress electrocardiogram (“EKG” or “ECG”) is a test that allows your doctor to check for changes in your heart while your heart is under stress such as exercise.  Sometimes abnormalities can only be seen when your heart is under stress.  Your heart is a muscle and, when you exercise, your heart works harder than it does when you are resting.  A stress EKG translates your heart’s electrical activity into line tracings on paper.  The spikes and dips can then be read by a cardiologist to find abnormalities.  We are proud to work with The Heart Place to provide your doctor with interpretations of our exams.

Epidural Steroid Injection

Epidural Steroid Injection (ESI) are completed here in our state of the art Molecular Flouroscopy Suite by a Board Certified Pain Management Physician. These exams help relieve pain caused by spinal stenosis, spondylolysis, or disc herniation.

1.5 Tesla MRI

1.5tesla_mri

GE 1.5 Tesla MRI offer an alternative to our Upright MRI. This high field strength MRI is reliable, convenient and time efficient.

Bone Mineral Density Test

We offer a Bone Mineral Density. This exam is extremely helpful for doctors to check for osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a disease when the bones become brittle and fragile. It especially affects women and the elderly. This test takes only moments and shows how much calcium and other minerals are in the bones.
